I have made a number of battalions of French Malburian troops, including Swiss mercenaries, along with gun crews. The uniforms on this page date from around 1706.

A French cannon seen from the 'enemies' view. Note the figures not in uniform. These were often local people conscripted into the gun crew and trained to carry out tasks such as cleaning the gun in action, loading the gun with shot or chain or ball and helping to move the gun. Leaving the aiming to be done by the uniformed troops.
A large cannon with a smaller one in the background. The uniformed figure on the smaller cannon is in the process of elevating the barrel to correct its aim. The troops around the cannon in the foreground are waiting for the officer to give the command to fire.
In the very front of the picture are logs with wooden spikes - to slow down the charge of advancing troops and horses. The troops ready to fire their muskets at you are 'Saint Sulpice' with the drummer and officer in the middle. Behind are Bavarian Cuirassiers, 'Salberg Weidel'.
