Workshops 2004/5

AABS was the first and is still the only company to offer this quality of workshops in Argentina - because we bring a genuine English business coach and facilitator over from the UK.

These workshops are offered to English language institutes and teachers in Buenos Aires, twice a year.

BC/05 Beyond Cambridge: English in the Real World
This workshop is aimed at:

i) Teachers of English who want to be ahead of their competitors by having experienced 'real' spoken English as opposed to 'taught' English.
ii) Teachers, including native speakers, who wish to update their knowledge of spoken English as currently used in the UK and Europe.
iii) Professionals who think the ability to speak and understand English is necessary for their careers and not just another line to add in their CVs.
iv) Students who have attained a good level of English, and who wish to try out their language skills on a native speaker - but within a safe and supportive environment.

Objectives:

To expose the attendees to English as spoken in England. To give the attendees confidence that they can listen to, and speak with, a native speaker. To give each attendee individual feedback (on a 1 to 1 basis) on their strengths and future development needs.

In short, to gain confidence using English 'for real' and to be aware of the current modern English vocabulary, intonation and usage.

N° of Participants Minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8
Programme: The programme will be run by an experienced facilitator well practised in holding development workshops in the UK. The approach used is that of assisting the attendees to identify their own needs and, during the session, helping them move towards meeting those needs. Therefore the methodology of this workshop is based on the model of continuous improvement. The whole workshop will consist of a series of participative verbal exercises which will require both individual and group input. This is not a 'talk and chalk' event, but a proactive interchange with facilitator and attendees.
Venue: Your Institute or School of English.
Duration: 3½ hours
Date: In March 2005 and by arrangement.
Price POA (contact us)

Please note:
The participants, supplied by the institute, should have what they consider to be a reasonable level of spoken English, since the workshops are conducted totally in English.
We do not allow the workshops to be video or tape recorded, but we will provide the attendees with course material and handouts.
These workshops are very intensive and will be run with 'English punctuality' in order that the attendees get as much out of them as possible.
